Separation of zirconium and hafnium



Commercial zirconium metal about contains 1–2.5% of hafnium, which is not ambiguous because the actinic backdrop of hafnium and zirconium are actual similar. Their neutron-absorbing backdrop alter strongly, however, necessitating the break of hafnium from zirconium for applications involving nuclear reactors.
